Venae was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She is a model who has appeared in national television shows, videos, print ads (for national and international magazine publications), fashion shows (for various designers), catalogs and has also done work as a fit model. Venae’s work has appeared on billboard posters nationwide.
Venae has lots of experience in front of the camera. Over the years, her face and ads have been featured in Essence, Ebony, Jet, Vibe, The Source, Black Elegance, Honey, Todays Black Woman, and Black Men magazines. She also appeared on the cover of several International romance magazines and on the book cover for NY Times Bestselling author Kimberla Lawson Roby. Aside from her editorial and fashion ads, because of her long and healthy tresses, she has appeared in Braids and Beauty, Try It Yourself Hair and Hype Hair magazines, a multitude of hair books and she has also been on thousands of hair product packages.
Venae booked a national campaign ad for Ultra Sheen hair products and she was the face of Ultra Sheen for six years. The ad was featured on billboards nationally and in countless magazines. She has also modeled for various catalog houses and has done fit modeling for Tommy Hilfiger. She worked on a Nike project shooting with highly acclaimed and celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz and had the privilege of shooting a major print ad for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals with her 4 year old daughter.
Television and Film
Venae has also been fortunate to hit the T.V. scene. She landed gigs on several television shows, most notably appearing twice on the “Chris Rock Show”, an HBO comedy series featuring Chris Rock. She also landed a role on an episode of “The Sopranos”, playing alongside actor Bokeem Woodbine and appeared in a fashion skit for Kimora Lee Simmon’s T.V. show “Life and Style” for E! Network. She appeared on the Wendy Williams Show as a model for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics for a holiday makeup segment.
While modeling full-time, Venae attended graduate school and graduated with a Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Her modeling career has and continues to be very successful for her.
In April 2014, Venae founded We "R" Listening, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that mentors girls ages 13 - 22. Check out the website at www.werlistening.org.
